Recommendations for a Vacation in Scottsdale, Arizona
Many people come to Scottsdale just to enjoy the golfing. There are dozens of courses in the area and many of them are world-class greens. Others are drawn by the large shopping centers. If you bring younger visitors along, like antsy children, other attractive activities would probably be wiser ways to spend your time.
One of the most popular family outings is a trip to the Out of Africa Wildlife Park. In the course of one afternoon, adults and youngsters can meet animals like tigers, giraffes, snakes and zebras. The McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park could be another fun trip. Admission and the playgrounds are free, which makes it a good place for picnics, and there are several shops and museums to explore. For one or two dollars, you can also take a ride on the carousel and the train.
Before participating in any or all of these activities, most people get settled in an Arizona hotel first. The hotel you choose is an important decision because it serves as a base camp for all other activities. Consequently, location may be as important to your family as price. After all, you don't want to spend all your time and money on long commutes when there are places to go and things to see.
Price is still an important factor though and, in Arizona, hotel rates usually fluctuate with the high and low seasons. Scottsdale is usually bursting at the seams during January, February and March because cold weather in northern climates tends to drive people south like migrating birds. This means that accommodations will be more affordable during the hot summer months of June, July, August and September when the city is emptier. Looking online for a room can save you money too because hotels often offer exclusive online rates.
