The Evolution of Children's Magicians - Parties To Events
Children's magicians today are in high demand - many libraries, schools, churches, youth organizations, and charities are calling upon children's magicians to add an inspiring, informational, and of course - entertaining - dimension to their event. A successful children's magician today has moved past birthday parties and has entered the arena of education and events.
For example, a school might hire a magician to entertain their students while weaving the principles of self-esteem, self-respect, and respecting other people through the performance. Both libraries & schools have benefited from using magicians to entertain kids while encouraging them to read, increase their literacy, and learn to enjoy books. Churches can also benefit from magicians - churches have been utilizing magicians in summer camps, Vacation Bible School programs, and children's events for some time now.
The reason it's so successful for these various organizations? Kids have a greater ability to absorb information when they are drawn into the message through entertainment and mystery. Magic is one of the best ways to increase suspense, intrigue, and get kids to think about the words & message being presented to them.
Gone are the days of a simple rabbit in the hat routine now magicians are stepping up with information and inspiration. The beauty of a magic show is that it's the best canvas - the best visual aid - for instill truths into a child's mind. Once something interesting and amazing has been seen and a major point dramatically made to go with it, that moment is emblazoned in a child's memory forever.
Imagine the awe on a young boy's face as he watches an amazing magic routine he respects the magician, on some level admires him and then he hears the magician weave the inspiring message of saying no to drugs, respecting yourself, and standing up for yourself throughout his magic show. Magic is an age-old art that never fails to capture the attention of an audience when it is well-done. Organizations, schools, churches, and libraries have picked up on that and are utilizing that interest to get major points across to their students.
