Acne - The Hormonal Disorder
The root cause of acne growth whether it is on your face, back or chest, is not the skin but the secretion of hormones within your body. The endocrine system regulation the hormonal secretion of the body is the main culprit to spread this disease on your skin. In fact it is a combination of both internal and external misbalance that gives birth to acne on the skin. Precisely you can regard acne as a hormonal disorder and not a skin disease.
Role of sebaceous gland
There are oil glands present inside our skin that are known as sebaceous glands. These glands are activated with the hormonal secretion. If there is any imbalance in the production of hormones, extra oil is produced by the skin in the form of sebum. Once the sebum starts getting clogged the follicle hair is removed and dot-like spots come out. Initially they may be blackheads but gradually they take round or oval shape and commonly come to be known as pimples and they are nothing but acne.
Main hormone involved
Which is the hormone that actually triggers this problem? The production of sebum in excess amount is generated by androgens. It is a dominating male hormone that creates more problems for the female folk. Women face the acute problem of acne if this hormonal level gets increased in the body.
Females particularly face the hormonal disorder during certain phases of their life. During puberty, pregnancy or menopause, the hormonal setting in the body is complexly disrupted. In young boys this disturbance in the hormonal level is generally found during the puberty. What actually happens in this sensitive period is that the human body undergoes a total change in its internal configuration and external build-up. Puberty is the real hour for growth. Hence the secretion of hormones too doesn't remain normal as otherwise.
Androgens is produced in abundant and in turn leads to the formation of clogs by the follicle cell on the skin. The skin being on the external part of the body comes in close contact with bacteria and other micro germs and thus acnes get a favorable condition to form their shelter. Adulthood is the prime time for both boys and girls to cope with the acne problem but women in particular face this problem even in late years.
