Vaproizer History: The Kaldair Vaporizers

Around thirty years ago, a novel design for a submerged combustion LNG Vaporizer was developed by Kaldair. Its submerged combustion combines the safety of steam heating with the quick response characteristics of a direct-fired heater. These vaporizers do not employ true submerged combustion but the products of combustion are exhausted directly into the base of a tank filled with water. Speeding the hot combustion gases through the tank raises the water temperature and thus, via the heat exchanger tube coil, heats the metal frame and the herbs are converted into the vapors. After then the vapors are stored in the balloon for further use. Great volumes of vapors, broken up into small bubbles by the sparkers, produce an upsurge of water in the pot and this is allowed to flow over a weir into the vaporizer metal cup. From here the vapors re circulates into the base of the exchanger vessel to be mixed with the hot products of combustion once more. Afterwards the product of herbs is mixed into the water and this is condensed on entry into the exchanger vessel, releasing its heat of latent vaporization, so we can achieve great amount vapors that can be enjoyed by the user. Health considerations are increasingly important, and these have not been overlooked. The excellent vaporization characteristics of the novel, all metal burner offer significantly lower gasses levels than traditional methods in this type of vaporizers. Because of the progressive mixing and combustion which occurs in the central cone of the burner, none of the herbs and plant material is wasted and the user is greatly benefited.
