Anti Aging Skin Care Tips to Prevent Wrinkles

Making sure that you do not develop fine lines and blemishes before they show up on your face is the best way to prevent wrinkles. Here are some useful tips that you can use on a daily basis to keep your appearance intact.

One of the easiest things to do is drink a lot of water. Not only is water good for you but it will also rid your body of toxins while keeping your skin hydrated. Dry skin is one of the main causes of wrinkles, so the more water you drink, the less likely you are to develop fine lines around the eyes and mouth, or on the forehead. Try to strive for a gallon a day if you can, or reach for a sixteen-ounce bottle at your local convenience store each day. Brands like Smart Water from Glaceau are great if you are trying to replace electrolytes in your body. Calcium and magnesium are key minerals in the more expensive brands such as Fiji and Evian.

You should also make sure that you use a facial moisturizer that contains a high SPF; this will protect you from the harmful UVB and UVA rays of the sun. Excessive sun exposure can become a big obstacle if you are trying to prevent wrinkles, so make sure that even when you are wearing moisturizer, that you limit your sun exposure as much as possible.

Moisturizers and face wash that contain vitamin E, vitamin C, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid are also very helpful when you want to prevent wrinkles. Vitamins help to keep the skin healthy and encourage blood flow through the skin cells, and glycolic and salicylic acids contain alpha and beta hydroxy acids, which help the skin to get rid of dead cells. It is also important to make sure that your skin is as clean as possible. To that end, use makeup that will not clog your pores and be sure to remove makeup from your face each night before going to sleep.

You can also prevent wrinkles by avoiding certain bad habits, such as smoking and drinking. This will mean making certain lifestyle changes but it will be worth the effort in the long term.

Excessive alcohol consumption reduces the amount of water in the body, and since skin needs moisture in order to stay supple, wrinkles can easily surface. Limit your alcohol intake to social gatherings only, and if you are out on the town often, try to have a drink only once a week.

Smoking will also give you blemishes and fine lines that it can be hard to reverse. The nicotine in cigarettes will make it even more difficult for your skin to produce collagen as you age, and it may take several injections and laser treatments to restore your appearance.

Getting enough sleep and reducing stress will also do wonders in helping you to prevent wrinkles.
