Know How to Properly Wash Your Hair

You consider your hair as your style statement and you try your best to take care of it. In fact, you wash it regularly to make it as clean as possible. Of course you comb and dry it after washing. Sometimes you even use hair conditioners that help retain the moisture of your hair. Yet, you are unhappy with it because it is still dry and frizzy. It doesn't look as healthy and shiny as you want it to be. Hence you ask yourself why is this happening when you know you're taking good care of your beloved tress.

Well the answer to your question lies in the method of washing your hair. This is the key in maintaining the health of your hair thus preventing hair loss. That is why it is important to know the proper way of washing and taking care of your beloved hair. This article will discuss the right method of shampooing, conditioning and the frequency of washing your hair.

The Proper way of using a shampoo.

Shampooing removes dirt and oil so knowing the proper way of using a shampoo will make your hair healthy and dirt-free. But first you must choose a mild shampoo that doesn't contain chemical ingredients. The process starts with rinsing your hair with warm or cool water. Pour a small amount of shampoo, about a quarter of your palm, rubbing your hands together. This is to distribute the shampoo evenly. Lightly massage your scalp using your fingers. Repeat this process for about 2 to 3 times if your scalp is oily.

Proper way of conditioning hair.

After shampooing your hair, towel-dry it first so that it's not soaking wet. Put some conditioner on your palm then rub your palms together to distribute it evenly, just like what you did in the shampoo. Don't put the conditioner on your scalp but on your hair only. You can condition from the middle of the hair down to the tips of your hair. However if your scalp is oily, you may opt to massage the conditioner on your scalp. Comb your hair using your fingers and leave it on for about a minute. Rinse your hair while running your fingers from the scalp to the tip so that there would be no residue of conditioner or shampoo left on your hair.

Frequency of using hair products.

The frequency of washing hair depends on the type of hair you have. Whether it's straight or wavy and short or long. It also depends on the type of scalp you have, either dry or oily. Moreover, how often you wash your hair depends on your preference. You may want to shampoo it everyday because you feel cleaner compared to washing it every other day.

The proper way of washing your hair will make your hair healthier and luster. Remember that you don't have to change the brand of your shampoo every now and then because the basic ingredients of these products are the same.
