One thing you need to know is that it does not mean that you have very little body fat if you are a very thin person. A slender person can also be of high levels of body fat. As a result, you will probably need some tools to measure your body fat.

One of the tools you may use to measure your body fat is to use a home body fat scale. It can help to measure body fat quickly and conveniently. In order to measure the amount of body fat in your body, the scale will use a method called Bioelectrical Impedance method. Under this method, a very low-level electrical current will be passing through your body. The scale will measure the impedance of your body. And this will indicate the amount the body fat in your body. This is a very popular way to measure body fat since the tool is easy to use and the price of the tool is not very expensive compared to other tools that can help to measure the amount of body fat.

On the other hand, you may also use skin fold calipers to measure the amount of a body fat. When you use this tool, you will use it to grasp the skin folds at different parts of your body. The thickness of the folds will be measures. Of course some kind of standard values for the measurements have been developed and your measures will be compared with this standard values. From this you will be able to estimate the amount of body fat in your body.

The above tools can only help you to identify the problem. However, they cannot help you to solve the problem if you have too much body fat. You will need to be careful of what you eat and start doing exercises if you find that the body fat is too much.
