Zone diet is the novel way of looking at balanced diet. It is a great innovation in the food world and the major credit goes to Barry Sears. The research of this gentleman led to an interesting formula of food habit and a new dimension to how you must take your meals determining the nutritional values.

Yes to carbohydrates and proteins

Weight loss has almost become synonymous to low fat, low carbohydrates and thereby low calories. You are indeed sick of hearing this theory. You must have also given up eating all non-vegetarian foods like beef, meat and even chicken. You have started devising your food habit in the organic way. And at the end of the day you remain discontented on whatever you eat because they go against your taste and likings.

Zone diet is exclusively designed to meet the eating spree of non-vegetarians. You can control your weight even if you depend on meat and other carbohydrate products. But the division of amount holds the major significance. Barry Sear formulated out that particular division of nutrients that can keep your body weight in control.

Effective plan

It was straight and well-defined division known as 40-30-30 plans. The first part was defined for the carbohydrate portion. It was fixed at 40%. The second division was mad for the protein portion. It was given 30% of the whole part and finally another 30% was fixed for the fats.

Barry Sears stressed upon this nutrient value keeping in mind the probabilities of fat deposition in the body cells. The right proportionate of carbohydrate, fat and protein in the body also supports the right amount of formation of the insulin hormone in the blood. With the increase of insulin, the chances of becoming patients of blood sugar, blood pressure and hypertension become increasingly high. On the other hand this blocks the metabolic rate of the body.

Most of the times it has been seen that once fat has already gathered in your body you become over conscious about putting it off. But this becomes a tougher process. On the other hand from the very beginning if you can control over the consumption of fatty substances and maintain the Zone Diet formula, you are miles away from the problems of excess calories.

Have carbohydrates but not direct starch from grains but from fruits. Introduce chicken and soybeans instead of meat and beef. With these little alterations you can remain hale and hearty.
