Dismayed At Your Wet Carpet And It'S Need For Sewage Damage Cleanup?
There are certain emergency actions that need to be taken to deal with wet carpet immediately after being carried by flood water. It is true that the first thing to do is to extract the water and dehumidify the wet carpet. But this does not mean increasing the temperature of the room with a heater and then vaporizing the water droplets from the wet carpet. This should never be done under any cost. Interestingly, the temperature should be made chill and not warm the house. Turn the air conditioner to the lowest mode and circulate chill air, this will do well to the wet carpet.
Under no circumstances the wet carpet should be allowed to sit just like that waiting it to dry on its own as this never happens and it only aggravates mold growth. So, the key is to act fast and do things to dry and clean the wet carpet. Things get worse if the carpet has padding. Padded carpets are expensive and replacing it with new carpet after the water damage is an unexpected expenditure. Most off the home insurance policies that are covered for water damage include carpet problems. Lucky are those who have insured it as the refund amount would become handy and reduce the financial burden.
Some of the home insurance companies consider has provision for cleaning carpet and so if you already have covered the house wit insurance then check with the company about their stand on wet carpets. It is better to be aware of your insurance policies before hand so that you don't have to rush things and confuse the proceedings in the last minute. If you don't remember if the policy covers wet carpet, then try to get information in that aspect.
You can further specific information by referring to the official website of the insurance companies. Incase you couldn't locate the website or the company does not have one, you can contact them over phone and enquire about the required information. If you are fortunate, your insurance company will either take the responsibility to clean the carpet by delivering it to a professional carpet cleaning company or get you a brand new carpet.
On the other hand, if you don't have insurance or the insurance company does not cover wet carpet, you have to either clean it for yourself or hire a cleaner on your own. It is suggested to choose a well established company to clean and dry the wet carpet as they would do it efficiently and skillfully in less time.
