Some other things you will collect as you get more comfortable with your skill will be paints and possibly an airbrush set so that you can add a custom paint scheme to your models. The point at which you will know that building models has become a lifetime hobby is when you find yourself creating all your own custom decals because you feel that the ones that are supplied with the model do not correctly portray the original.

One tip that will help you to advance your model building hobby is to save the sprue so that you can use it for any modifications or repairs you might have to do to your models. It can be trimmed down to make small replacement parts for the originals that may have broken off of the model. You can also use it to make small custom parts for modifying the existing design to your tastes.

No matter how you decide to modify your model tanks or how you decide to display them you have now begun your journey into a hobby that has been around for centuries. It is one that you can enjoy for a lifetime and can share with your children and loved ones as well.
