There is a large variety of size and shapes of barbecue grills. Small grills that can be placed on a table can cost very little and they work just the same as the big ones.
Prices vary, with the larger stainless steel models going for more than two thousand dollars. The basic function of a barbecue grill is to cook meat. But, some have so many other accessories and additions that they look ready to take off and fly. Some grills can also smoke meat, with a specialized smoker accessory.
There are grills in all shapes and sizes available that will fit in with not with the taste but also with their needs. Something to consider when shopping for a grill is: What size grill will fit into and function in your available area? Meat racks can be small, maybe enough to cook two steaks, or large enough to cook for a large party.
You can cook any kind of meat on a barbecue grill, from chicken, beef, and pork, to even fish. Meat flavors can be improved in many different ways. You can choose from many different sauces in which to marinated the meat overnight to add the desired taste. When it is taken out to the barbecue grill, the aroma is mouth watering.
You can also add different flavorings to the meat on the grill. A quick visit to the grocery store and you can get more flavorings than you could ever use. Some even mix spices together designed for each type of meat.
Watch out for flare-ups because they can singe and ruin the meat. Almost all barbecue grills come with a lid. Keeping the lid closed will reduce flare-ups because of the reduced amount of oxygen inside the enclosure.
Even though a closed lid will reduce flare-ups, you still have to keep an eye on it. Don't just walk away. It's important to know how long to cook a particular kind of meat to the tenderness that you desire. Overcook it and you'll be chewing on a piece of burnt charcoal.
Keeping a sharp knife handy is a good idea for now and again checking how done the meat is on the inside. When you have an idea of the time needed to cook the meat to your requirements, half the worries is gone. Overcooked meat doesn't only look aweful, it tastes bad as well.
