Be A Coach, Mentor And Trainer To Your Downline
This quote is well suited to the mindset one needs as an affiliate-marketing leader. When you instill in your downline the knowledge they need to market effectively, you grow your business. When you inspire your downline to take that knowledge and apply it to their efforts creatively, you grow your business faster.
As an affiliate marketer, you need your downline as much as they need you. You need them to produce as effective internet marketers to increase your revenue streams. When they do, all your hard work pays greater dividends. Time, money, and other resources invested to train your downline pay off in two ways. First, you get that increased income so you get a return on that time and money invested. Second, you can focus on other areas of your life and avoid becoming a workaholic, because you have others working for you helping drive your income. A quality, trained, inspired downline actually contributes to quality of life.
Your downline needs you so they can grow their business properly right from the beginning. They need a connection with you so they start out on the right track. Connecting with them means more than the odd e-mail giving them a product update. You need to connect with your downline by associating with them on a personal level. You need to find out their concerns and goals for their business. You do this by becoming involved with them and being available to them as coach, mentor, and trainer.
As a coach, you instruct your downline on your particular affiliate product. You help them understand what the product is about and what the different ways are that they can use to market the product. You also give them a broad overview of the marketplace for the product. You instruct them on how to go after niche markets. As a coach, you are an educator.
As a mentor, you connect with your downline by being a guide, a supporter, and an advisor. You are there for moral support and even a shoulder to cry on in a sense. There will be times when your downline is toughing out and not seeing progress. They may feel like quitting or they may just become stagnant. As a mentor, you are there to inspire them to further action. You are there to let them know you went through the same things but persevered and became successful as an affiliate marketer. In effect, you're there to let them know they can succeed just as you did and then build their own downline.
As a trainer, you deal in specifics. You will connect with your downline by getting into detail about product features and what they can do precisely. You will train them in processes, giving new systems and procedures for marketing. You will train your downline in these marketing procedures in a systematic manner. Training in affiliate marketing is detailed specific instruction on product use, and marketing methods. It is also specific training on teaching your downline to train their downline.
The more you connect to your downline as a coach, mentor, and trainer, the more your downline sees you as someone who cares about them. They know they are not just a product you use to increase sales. They will feel inspired to reach for goals that you show them are attainable. They will want to give back to you because you gave to them first. They will do this giving in the form of increased marketing efforts, which benefit you in the form of increased income.
