Let Niche Publishers Be Your Down-Line Source
People suitable for your down-line are out there. They are not necessarily everywhere, however. Those best suited to being down-line members of your affiliate product team tend to visit certain cyber locations. They tend to read certain print publications; such as newsletters and specialty magazines.
To succeed in internet marketing as an affiliate, find where these people go for information. It takes some research to pinpoint specific online and print publications for your marketing efforts. A great way to find people suitable for your down-line is to talk to publishers within your niche and direct your content to them.
Don't be afraid to call or e-mail a publisher to learn valuable information that will help you build your down-line. Two things will result when you contact a publisher within your niche. You learn what type of content they prefer that suits their readers needs. When you give a publisher what they need they get you published, which builds links back to your affiliate product. Links back to you and your products increases the chance someone will want to sell your product. Chalk some up for your down-line.
Another thing that will result from contacting a publisher is that you learn more about their readers. When you know a publication's specific target market you will know if it matches your specific target market. While you both may operate within the same niche, the publisher may have a broader focus compared to yours.
If both niches are jewelry, they may target the teen to early twenties set while you target the high-income middle-aged jet set. Therefore, you may want to focus on another publication whose focus is the same as yours. Garner a down-line that shares your product interest. Don't expend resources searching for a down-line among those who do not relate to your affiliate product.
It's incumbent upon you as an affiliate marketer to fine-tune marketing efforts to locate sub-niches within your niche. Direct, open communications with publishers helps you do this. The more targeted your marketing efforts, the better quality down-line members you will acquire.
When you contact a publisher within your niche, ask them specific detailed questions about their readership. Let them know about your affiliate product. Ask them whether they have the readership that shares an interest in that type of product. If they don't, focus your efforts on other publishers within that niche. Your goal is to find a down-line that shares an affinity for your product as much as possible.
Form relationships with publishers who serve a specific component of a niche. If your affiliate product is specialty, fair-trade organic coffees you may only want to market your content to publications that provide information to readers interested in that. You may not want to market to the general mass-market coffee population. You want to gain down-line members who share a passion for specialty, fair-trade organic coffees so they will be enthusiastic about selling it.
Seek out publications within your niche that have readers who are pre-disposed to your affiliate product. That may mean going after a sub-sector of the overall niche so you find a targeted down-line suitable to your affiliate product. Your down-line is out there. They are reading publications that are relevant to the product you sell. They may be looking for that affiliate marketing opportunity that you will offer them. Be their lifeline so they will join your down-line.
