The Story of Nike Air Jordans and Counterfeits
I was disappointed to the core when I read a couple of pieces over the net researching on Air Jordans. One of those was a forum where members debated what eBay should do to prevent selling counterfeit products while a member even cast doubts over eBay’s pledge to implement things strictly. Obviously, Nike Air Jordans was amongst the most discussed products. For me concern is not what eBay should do but the rise of fake Air Jordans to prominence.
The second piece shook the life out of me and sown doubts in my mind as to whether I was living at a time when swearing were essential for every simple step you took. This time it was an eBay sales page advertising Nike Air Jordans where the seller repeated swore that the product was genuine and there was no need whatsoever for him to sell fake items and that he was not selling counterfeit Air Jordans by any chance. I would still believe that poor fellow, he was actually selling genuine Nike Air Jordans but what shocked me was the compulsion he was subjected to and the repeated claims.
Well, how is Nike planning to protect its buyers many of whom save money the hard way to buy their dream shoes? It is a tricky situation, fake masters would have deserted the ship even at the slightest hint of popularity coming down but fortunately for them the demand for Nike Air Jordans appears to be growing as ever. Now, as if that wasn’t enough, Nike is making hardly any efforts to make top brands easily available. So long as there is this conjugation, fake masters will go unchecked. Even the story of Air Jordan x Air Force 1 Fusion is not different.
It is hard to quantify the worth second-hand market for Nike Air Jordans and I am unsure about its contribution or any share to the overall sales pie; on a softer side, it brought to fore those of Air Jordans fans that are soaked in nostalgia. Agreed, not many would like their dreams to be second-hand but for those who need Air Jordans, come what may, I think, it’s the way.
Chinese are the most accused manufacturers for flooding the market with counterfeit Nike Air Jordans. Can there be truth in this even if you take for granted that they sell worthless wares half way across the globe? Don’t you think Nike Air Jordans are different and it takes real stuff to even counterfeit them.
