Paris - Holiday Deals For Everyone

Owing to its location, Paris has a temperate, oceanic climate, also known as affectionately as the City of Lights. Paris short stays of a few days, often over a long weekend are the normal way to see it,there is so much to see and do that often only the main tourist attractions can be fitted in.

This city is also equally well known for its Gothic architecture and markets. It has much to offer visitors who adore culture, even if it is only for a long weekend. Traveling through the city of Paris can be very enjoyable. There is an excellent underground system called the Metro which runs regular trains into the city center and is very easy to understand.

The Eiffel Tower at over 300 meters tall and is a magnificent steel structure. There are only a few places in the city where it isn't visible. At night, it comes alive with lights that have to be seen to be believed. It is possible to take organized tours which tell the story of the Tower and the history of France.

A walk along the Champs Elysees is essential when you visit Paris,it will present you with many famous designer shops and good restaurants. This is an up-market area that attracts thousands of tourists each day, the average tourist may find the accommodation expensive but more modest hotels can be found away from this area.

A trip to would not be complete without a visit to the Louvre museum; with almost a third of a million exhibits, you will not be able to see everything in one trip. Even on a short stay in Paris, this is a an art lovers paradise; with the likes of Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa to view in addition to some of the finest collections of art in the world. What makes Paris special is the number of artists that have been attracted to this great capital, many of whom left large collections of their paintings here like Monet and Picasso.

The famous 19th century edifice built on Napoleons instructions, the Arc de Triomphe, is also in Paris; to honor his generals (and his troops) he had their names inscribed upon it. Many people do not know that an observatory was included in the design which affords great views of the surrounding area, in particular those obtained along the lanes that lead from it.

Obviously, these are not the only places to visit; these are however, the most popular with regular tours arranged, many of which are either free or at a subsidized cost. It's an unfortunate fact that a Paris short stay vacation will only include some of the attractions. A longer break here will be necessary if you really want to experience everything this wonderful city has to offer.
